abstract Disclosed is a photographic image forming method. A silver halide photographic material is processed with a developing solution having a pH of 9.6 to 11.0. The silver halide photographic material has at least one light-sensitive layer containing a chemically-sensitized silver halide emulsion comprising silver halide grains having a silver chloride content of at least 60 mol %. At least one of said at least one light-sensitive layer and a light-insensitive hydrophilic colloid layer contains a hydrazine compound represented by the formula (1): R1-NHNH-G-R2 (1). The variables in the formula are defined in the specification.
