abstract The present invention discloses an improved coating for pressure-sensitive record material of the type comprising an aqueous slurry of binder and anionic microcapsules containing a color former and a solvent. The improvement comprises including in addition in the aqueous slurry an aluminum cation as a cationic metal salt in a concentration range of from about 0.15 parts of cation per 100 parts microcapsules to about 3.9 parts of cation per 100 parts microcapsules on a dry weight basis. Enhanced image intensity based on the active weight of coating used as measured by capsule solids is observed.
