abstract | A silver halide color photographic material comprises a support, a blue sensitive layer, a green sensitive layer and a red sensitive layer and at least one non-light-sensitive layer. The non-light-sensitive layer is an intermediate layer arranged between the silver halide emulsion layers. According to the present invention, the non-light-sensitive intermediate layer contains a compound represented by the formula (1a) or (1b): (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) (1a) (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) (1b) in which R12 is an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; M is -CO-, -SO2-, -N(R15)CO-, -OCO- or -N(R15)SO2-; each of R14, R15 and R24 independently is hydrogen, an alkyl group or an aryl group; L is a divalent linking group necessary for forming a 5, 6 or 7-membered ring; each of R11, R13 and R21 independently is hydrogen or a substituent group of the hydroquinone nucleus; Time is a group which is released from the oxidation product of the hydroquinone nucleus to further release X; X is a development inhibitor; and t is 0 or 1. It is preferred that M is-SO2-, -N(R15)CO-, -OCO- or -N(R15)SO2-. |
