abstract A thermal transfer recording medium comprising a foundation and a thermal transfer ink layer provided thereon, said thermal transfer ink layer containing the particles of a silicone compound. The recording medium gives print images having excellent scratch or abrasion resistance without any deterioration in clearness of print image. The recording medium of self-correctable type gives print images which can be corrected clearly by a self-correction method.
