abstract New electrostatographic toners and developers are provided containing novel charge control agents comprising ester-containing quaternary pyridinium salts having the structure: <IMAGE> wherein R1 is alkyl or aryl, X is CH2n, Y is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, Z(-) is an anion and n is an integer from 2 to 6. Such ester-containing quaternary pyridinium salts also cause toner particles containing them to display lower fusing temperatures and improved adhesion indexes.
