New substituted 2-arylpyrroles of the general formula (I) <IMAGE> (I) in which R1 represents cyano or nitro, R2 represents the radicals <IMAGE> wherein X1, X2, X3, and X4 can be identical or different and represent hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, R4 represents halogen and n represents a number from 0 to 3, R3 represents hydrogen or in each case optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl, Y1 represents halogen and Y2 represents halogen, alkyl or halogenoalkyl, are provided. The new compounds (I) have a very potent activity against animal pests, in particular against insects, arachnids and nematodes. |
