abstract A composition which is thermooxidatively stable is provided which comprises a normally thermooxidatively unstable organic compound and effective amount of a thermooxidative stabilizing composition comprising an oil soluble sulfonate of a metal selected from barium, calcium, magnesium, zinc or a mixture of any of the foregoing; an effective amount of at least one primary antioxidant; optionally an effective amount of a secondary antioxidant; and optionally a carrier for the thermooxidative stabilizing composition. A thermooxidative stabilizing composition and a method for stabilizing a normally unstable organic compound comprising the addition of an effective amount of the thermooxidative stabilizing composition are provided as well.
