abstract A method of preventing an impairment of vision induced by ophthalmic surgery or improving the vision impaired by ophthalmic surgery of a warm-blooded animal is provided which comprises administering either a prophylactically effective or a therapeutically effective amount of diflunisal either systemically or topically to the animal. An optional maintenance effective amount of diflunisal may be subsequently administered. A topical dosage unit form of diflunisal is also provided.
