Compounds of the invention by virtue of their silanol fatty ester group are waxy lubricious solids which provide outstanding lubrication and hydrophobicity when applied to surfaces like fiber, hair, skin or paper. The compounds of the present invention are prepared by reacting a silanol compound with a fatty carboxylic and or polycarboxylic acid, ester or anhydride.
