abstract A process for preparing a 1H-pyrazolo[5,1-C]-1,2,4-triazole compound represented by the following general formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent group, R2 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic ring group, and X represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent group, which process comprises reacting either an imidic acid ester represented by the following general formula (II): <IMAGE> (II) wherein R2 is as defined above, R3 represents an alkyl group, and Y represents an acid radical, or an orthoester represented by the following general formula (III): R2-C(OR3)3 (III) wherein R2 and R3 are as defined above, with a 5-hydroazino-1H-pyrazole compound represented by the following general formula (IV): <IMAGE> (IV) wherein R1 and X are as defined above, Y' represents an acid radical, and n represents O or a positive integer necessary to neutralize the intramolecular electric charge.
