Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a sulphonylisothiourea of the formula <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1, R2, R3, X, Y, and Z are as defined herein, which comprises reacting a sulphonic acid amide of the formula R1-SO2-NH2, (II) or a metal salt thereof, with an N-heteroaryl-iminodithiocarbonic acid S,S-diester of the formula <IMAGE> (III) at a temperature between about 20 DEG C. and 200 DEG C. Intermediates and a process for their preparation are also disclosed. |
