abstract Compounds which are substituted 1-hydroxyalkyl-azolyl derivatives of the general formula <IMAGE> (I) in which A represents a nitrogen atom or a CH group, B represents oxygen, sulphur or a CH2 group, R represents substituted alkyl, and, in the case in which B represents sulphur, also represents an unsubstituted alkyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl or optionally substituted phenyl group, Z represents a halogen atom or an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkoxy, halogenoalkylthio, optionally substituted phenyl, optionally substituted phenoxy, optionally substituted phenylalkyl or optionally substituted phenylalkoxy group, and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and the acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof, are new, are prepared as described and find use as fungicides and plant growth regulators.
