abstract | N-[(Alpha-perhaloalkylbenzyloxy)pyridyl]-N'-benzoylurea compounds of the following structural formula are useful insecticides: <IMAGE> in which RA is selected from the group consisting of -hydrogen, -halogen, -lower alkyl, -lower alkoxy, -benzyl, and -benzyloxy; RB is selected from -hydrogen and -halogen; RC and RD are both -hydrogen or together constitute a -COCO- bridge; R alpha is a perhaloalkyl substituent; R3 is selected from the group consisting of -hydrogen, -halogen and -phenylthio; R4 is selected from the group consisting of -hydrogen, -halogen, -lower alkyl, -lower alkoxy, -lower alkoxyalkyl, -lower haloalkoxy, -lower alkylthio, -lower alkylsulfonyl, and -diallylamino; or R3 and R4 at adjacent ring positions constitute a -OCH2O+13, -CH2C(CH3)2O-, or -CF2CF2O- bridge; and R5 is -hydrogen or -lower alkyl. |
