abstract A protective coating consists essentially of a polysiloxane copolymer characterized by being prepared by the reaction of a trimethyl end blocked polyamine silicone fluid including amino alkyl groups with a saturated aliphatic carboxylic acid to produce a polysiloxane copolymer including alkyl amine groups and either amide groups or amine salts or the combination thereof. The polysiloxane copolymer is utilized alone or with additives to produce a high gloss detergent resistant, and rust protective coating.
