abstract Foams are prepared from a linear low density polyethylene and, optionally, other olefinic polymers, such as a low density polyethylene using a chemical cross-linking agent. The resulting cross-linked polyethylene foams exhibit an excellent balance of properties at generally lower densities than foams prepared from low density polyethylene only.
