A silver halide photographic material having at least one layer of silver halide emulsion layers containing a silver halide having a silver chloride content of not less than 25 molar %, characterized in that at least one of said silver halide emulsion layers contains a silver halide sensitized with a compound having the following formula (Ia), and/or a compound having the following formula (Ib) and is hardened with a compound having the following formula (II) and/or a compound having the formula (III); <IMAGE> (Ia) <IMAGE> <IMAGE> (Ib) <IMAGE> (II) <IMAGE> (III) in the above formulae (Ia), (Ib), (II) and (III), R1 to R20, Z1 and Z2, n1 and n2, Q and Q', L, p and q are defined in the specification. The photographic material of the invention not only shows a higher sensitivity, a lower infrared sensor fogging, a superior sharpness or color reproductivity and a superior whiteness but also exerts a good storage property with time or a lower change in sensitivity after storage. |
