A method for developing a silver halide photographic material in the presence of an amino compound represented by the following general formula (I) or the salt thereof to increase photographic speed and/or gamma without being attended by a concomitant increase in generation of fog: <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; R2 and R3, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or an alkylcarbonyl group, or R2 and R3 may combine with each other and form a ring; and A represents a divalent aliphatic linkage group. |
