abstract An improved and novel animal litter is described utilizing alumina, aluminosilicates or coal residues as the substrate intimately mixed with monomers containing acid functionalities which are polymerized in-situ. The resulting mixture is then extruded into pellets of any size or shape. Animal litter pellets prepared by this invention have vastly improved water adsorption properties, deodorizing capacity, and they do not have to be cured at high temperatures.
