abstract An intraocular lens is provided with a specially configured loop which firmly holds the lens element in its desired optical position in the posterior chamber of the eye after extracapsular cataract extraction. The specially configured loop is specially designed to conform to the capsular bag or ciliary sulcus to prevent the lens element from accidentally tilting and to enhance patient comfort.
