A method of producing phenyl silanes is provided by reacting a silane having at least one hydrogen-silicon bond and an aromatic compound having at least one halogen radical, aryl halide radical or aldehyde radical in the presence of a transition metal catalyst at a temperature in the range of about 150 DEG C. to 200 DEG C. Suitable transition metals include rhodium, ruthenium, palladium, osmium, iridium and platinum. |
