abstract A new tanning agent, isophorone dicarbamoylsulfonate, is provided for tanning cattle hides and sheepskins. A white leather which does not discolor with exposure to sunlight and which has good fill and tensile strength is produced. The tanning agent is also effective for retanning slack chrome-tanned and zirconium-tanned cattle hides and sheepskins.
