abstract Compositions of polyether antibiotic rumen propionate enhancers and glycopeptide rumen propionate enhancers are effective in increasing the efficiency of feed utilization in ruminants. A method for increasing rumen propionate production in ruminants having a developed rumen function is provided. Such increase in rumen propionate production is synonymous with increased efficiency of feed utilization.
