abstract Disclosed is a method for removing dissolved oxygen from a liquid (e.g., aqueous) system which comprises adding to said liquid system an effective amount of an oxygen-scavenging chemical selected from 1,2-dihydro-1,2,4,5-tetrazines of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 are individually selected from lower alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and phenyl.
