abstract A process for the preparation of dialkylpentaerythritol diphosphites which are not contaminated by the presence of phenol. The process utilizes dichloropentaerythritol diphosphite as a starting material and since it does not contain a phenyl group there is no possibility of phenol being formed as a contaminant. Furthermore, the product obtained in this fashion is characterized by an enhanced hydrolytic stability.
