Polyurethane polymers having the general formula: <IMAGE> wherein each Y is an -NH- group, Z is an optionally substituted divalent hydrocarbon radical and n is an integer of at least 2; their preparation by reacting 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol and a diisocyanate Z(NCO)2 and the use of the polymers for the protection of various media against attack by microorganisms. |
