A process to synthesize poly (ether-ester-amide) sequence copolycondensates by the reaction in a molten condition between a dicarboxylic polyamide, in which the carboxylic functions are located at the chain-ends, and a polyoxyalkoylene with hydroxylated chain-ends, in the presence of a catalyst. This reaction is performed continuously in a thin-film reaction space through which the reaction mixture passes continuously under turbulent flow conditions. This process, which involves much shorter reaction times, produces sequence copolycondensates with better mechanical properties than corresponding substances obtained by batch processes. |
