abstract The invention relates to a device for simulating bearing signals of the TACAN type, formed by a modulation signal carried by a high frequency signal and resulting from the superposition of two sinusoidal signals of different low frequencies, as well as by spaced apart reference pulse trains, synchronized at emission with said modulation signal and representative of a determined orientation. According to the invention, this device is characterized in that it comprises, on the one hand, at least three signal generators of totally digital design, two of these generators being respectively provided to produce the equivalents of two sinusoidal modulation signals, while the third is intended to produce the equivalents of said reference pulse trains and, on the other hand, a quartz oscillator entirely controlling the functioning of said device and, in particular, that of the three digital generators. The invention is applied to the simulation of a TACAN beacon for testing airborne instruments in an aircraft.
