abstract A lightweight wall covering and method of making same are provided wherein such wall covering has a substantially smooth inside surface and a textured outer layer comprised of a substrate having an exposed surface defining the inside surface, a fluid impervious film bonded against the substrate, and an embossed expanded vinyl plastisol bonded against the film and defining the textured outer layer with the textured outer layer being defined by alternating recesses and dense projections substantially free of air spaces and with the textured outer layer having a substantially fluid impervious skin.
