abstract A primer coating containing, as the resin binder, a thermoplastic halogenated (at least partly fluorinated) ethylene polymer and a curable epoxy resin, and, as a filler pigment, finely-divided mica and metallic pigment powder, is disclosed herein. The primer coating gives fluoropolymer top coatings which have been simultaneously cured therewith unexpectedly high resistance to blistering and delamination when exposed to extreme conditions such as live steam under high pressure.
