abstract The present invention is directed to polyisocyanate mixtures which are liquid at room temperature and which (a) contain from 10 to 42% by weight of aromatically-bound isocyanate groups, which may be partly in the form of carbamic acid chloride; (b) contain from 0.5 to 5% by weight of sulphur in the form of sulphonic acid groups which may be at least partly neutralized or esterified; (c) contain from 0.5 to 5% by weight of phosphorus in the form of phosphonic acid alkyl ester groups or phosphonic acid aralkyl ester groups and (d) have a viscosity of from 10 to 50,000 cP at 25 DEG C.
