abstract A process for improving the physical and chemical properties of mixtures of polyvinyl chloride and finely divided synthetic silicic acid, which comprises mixing hexanetriol with the polyvinyl chloride and silicic acid. A composition and article of manufacture are provided. Finished products exhibit increased hardness, heat stability and resistance to discoloration, and are useful as shoe soles and floor coverings.
