abstract | The disclosure includes novel cyclic ethers of the formulas: ##STR1## In these formulas, X and Y are --O-- or a valence bond with the proviso that one of X and Y is --O-- and the other is a valence bond; R is hydrogen, alkyl of one to 4 carbon atoms; inclusive, or a pharmacologically acceptable cation; R 2 and R 3 are hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl; and A is ##STR2## wherein R 4 is hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl with the proviso that R 2 and R 3 are both hydrogen when R 4 is methyl or ethyl. The compounds of the first of these formulas are useful as vasoconstrictors and enhancers of platelet aggregation, and are useful in the control of bleeding in mammals, including man. The compounds of the second of these formulas are useful in the treatment of inflammation. |
