titleOfInvention | N-(1,2,2,2-tetrachloroethyl)-formimide-chloride for synthesizing trichlorothiazole |
abstract | The new compound N-(1,2,2,2-tetrachloroethyl)-formimide chloride of the formula ##STR1## is produced by reacting a substituted formamide of the formula ##STR2## wherein X is OH or Cl, n With approximately the stoichiometrically required amount of a highly reactive inorganic acid chloride, e.g. phosphorus pentachloride. The compound (I) can be reacted with sulfur at about 150° to 250° C to produce trichlorothiazole of the formula ##STR3## which is known to have insecticidal activity. |
