A catalyst for reforming a hydrocarbon fuel to a hydrogen-rich gas comprises a γ-alumina carrier, a layer of at least one of iron trioxide and chrominum trioxide coated on substantially all of surface of the γ-alumina carrier, and at least one metal of nickel and copper, if necessary, together with cobalt, supported on said layer. The reforming can be carried out in a wider composition range at the minimum reforming temperature of not higher than 400° C. |
