titleOfInvention Sugarless chewing gum having improved shelf life
abstract A sugarless confectionery or chewing gum composition having improved shelf life is prepared by the incorporation therein of crystalline sorbitol powder which is at least 80 percent by weight of the gamma crystalline polymorph. These novel sugarless gum formulations are twice as soft after 6-9 months as similar gum compositions containing sorbitol in the polymorphic or amorphous crystalline phase.
