abstract A method of forming an airlaid web at high speeds, the web being suitable for tissue and toweling applications, includes air forming a flimsy continuum on to a foraminous surface, wetting the continuum in a prescribed fashion, employing the wetted surface of the continuum to achieve stripping from the foraminous surface and transfer to a transfer surface and bonding the continuum to yield a coherent web while the wetted continuum remains adhered to the transfer surface.
