abstract There is provided a process for the manufacture of 2-(4-chloro-2-methylphenyl)imino-1,3-dithietane which involves the reaction of a dithiocarbamate salt with a methylene halide in the presence of a base and a sulfide ion in the presence of a ketone solvent to obtain high yields and purity of said 2-(4-chloro-2-methylphenyl)imino-1,3-dithietane.
