abstract Oil-in-water type emulsions of long chain monohydric aliphatic alcohols containing from 16 to 30 carbon atoms per molecule, when added to conventional paper coating compositions, function as coating lubricants when such coating compositions are coated on paper. Paper coated therewith displays excellent performance and use characteristics compared to coated paper made with conventional lubricants. The emulsions have low viscosity, shear stability, and a solids content typically of from about 30 to 60 weight percent.
