abstract Water-insoluble styryl dyestuffs of the formula in which R1 and R2 each represents an alkyl group which may be substituted and which may be joined to the radicals A1 and A2 respectively to form a ring, R3 represents an alkylene group which may be substituted, R4 represents a direct bond or an alkylene group which may be substituted, Y1 and Y2 each represents a cyano, carbalkoxy or arylsulphonyl group, A1 and A2 each represents a para-phenylene group which may be substituted and Z represents a direct bond or a colourless bridging group free from -SO2 groups, yield valuable yellow dyeings of high fastness to light and sublimation on polyester fibres.
