abstract | The present invention provides new-4-benzoxazolyl-(2)-4''-phenylstilbenes which correspond to the formula WHEREIN R denotes optionally non-chromophorically substituted alkyl with 1 to 18, preferably 1 to 4, carbon atoms, alkenyl with 2 to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl, preferably cyclohexyl, aryl or aralkyl, X denotes hydrogen, halogen, preferably chlorine, or alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, A denotes hydrogen, sulphamyl or halogen, preferably chlorine and B denotes hydrogen, halogen, preferably chlorine, alkyl or alkoxy with 1 to 4 carbon atoms. These new compounds are useful optical brighteners, especially for high molecular synthetic organic materials. |
