abstract Novel urethane compounds, which are derivatives of 1-halogen substituted lower molecular weight alkynes having the formula WHEREIN R is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl group having from one to not more than 20 carbon atoms and having from one to three linkages corresponding to m, and m and n are whole number integers between 1 and 3 and may be the same or different. These compounds have shown great fungicidal activity and particularly when used in surface coating compositions such as paint formulations.
