abstract |
It has been discovered that heating C4-C17 internal olefins to 300* to 500*F under pressures of 1000 to 3500 psig for 1 to 20 hours with an oxo catalyst prior to contacting with hydrogen results in a higher selectivity to primary alcohols than does the conventional hydroformylation procedure of heating all the reactants together. |
