Process for preparing urocanic acid |
abstract |
At least one acrylic monomer is polymerized in an aqueous suspension containing an L-histidine ammonialyase-producing microorganism. The acrylic monomers employed in the present invention include acrylamide, N,N''-lower alkylene-bis-acrylamide and bis(acrylamidomethyl)ether. The resultant immobilized Lhistidine ammonialyase-producing microorganism is subjected to enzymatic reaction with L-histidine or its acid addition salt. Urocanic acid is produced. Alternatively, DL-histidine or its acid addition salt may be employed instead of L-histidine thereby producing urocanic acid and D-histidine. |
