abstract | Organic compounds, particularly hydrocarbons, are oxidatively dehydrogenated to more unsaturated compounds by contact, under reactions conditions, with air, steam and a calcined solid catalyst composition comprising tungsten, tin and at least one metal of the iron subgroup of Group VIII. In one embodiment, isopentene is converted to isoprene over a nickel/tungsten/tin/oxygen catalyst at a conversion of 36 percent and with a modivity (modified selectivity) of 72 percent. |
