abstract | Compounds of the formula below are useful as herbicides WHEREIN X, Y and Z are substituents independently selected from the group consisting of nitro, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, hydrogen, and alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, provided that at least two of said X, Y and Z substituents are nitro; A, B, C and D are substituents independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms and alkenyl of 2 to 12 carbon atoms, provided that at most 3 of said A, B, C and D substituents are hydrogen, and further provided that at least one of said A, B, C and D substituents is an alkyl or alkenyl group of from 2 to 12 carbon atoms. |
