A novel cephalosporin compound of the formula: WHEREIN R1 is a hydrogen atom or an acyl group and R2 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl or an alkoxy group, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, for example, sodium 7(2''-thienylacetamido)-3-(6''''-(3''''-methylpyridazinyl)thiomethyl)3-cephem-4 -carboxylate 2''''-oxide, is provided. This cephalosporin compound has a broad antimicrobial spectrum and particularly effective against such bacteria as Proteus morganii or Proteus vulgaris. |
