titleOfInvention Vacuum type sweeper
abstract A truck mounted vacuum type sweeper constructed for dual operation employs identical sweeping apparatus on each side of the machine and an extension broom which may be swiveled from one side of the machine to the other for left hand and right hand sweeping operations. The extension broom is mounted such that its axis of rotation is always parallel to the pavement being swept. A control system is provided for programming the operation of the machine and includes means for transferring from, for example, a left hand sweeping operation to a right hand sweeping operation by merely operating a toggle switch. The control system further includes means for automatically lifting the suction nozzles from the operator of the sweeper shifts into reverse in order to prevent damage to the nozzle supporting structure.
