A method of producing higher individual branched carboxylic acids by aldol condensation of Beta -methyl-branched aldehydes at a temperature ranging from 50* to 100*C, in the presence of an aqueous alkali solution as a catalyst, followed by oxidation of higher Alpha , Beta -unsaturated aldehydes, that have formed during the aldol condensation, with an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an aqueous alkali solution at a temperature ranging from 10* to C. |
