titleOfInvention Toner composition employing polymer with side-chain crystallinity
abstract Electrostatographic toner compositions are provided which melt over a narrow temperature range and which have the correct degree of hardness and toughness whereby they can be easily particulated, resist impaction, do not tend to deposit undesirable films on electrostatographic plates and do not fracture during use. The toner compositions of the present invention comprise a polymer selected from the group consisting of a crystalline homopolymer or copolymer having an amorphous backbone and side-chain crystallinity derived by the polymerization of a polymerizable mixture containing at least about 2 wt. % of a polymerizable monomer having a crystalline alkyl group of at least about 14 carbon atoms.
