titleOfInvention | Polybutadiene compositions and hydrocarbons thickened therewith |
abstract | 1. A polybutadiene composition obtained by adding to a latex, produced by emulsion polymerization of butadiene wherein the conversion of butadiene to polybutadiene is about 55 to 65 percent, from about 0.2 to 0.4 parts by weight of a acrylonitrile per 100 parts by weight of butadiene within a period of about 3 to 25 minutes prior to shortstopping the emulsion polymerization of the butadiene. 2. An incendiary gel consisting essentially of a liquid hydrocarbon thickened with from about 2 to about 10 percent by weight based upon the weight of the incendiary gel of the product obtained by adding to a latex, produced by emulsion polymerization of butadiene wherein the conversion of butadiene to polybutadene is about 55 to 65 percent, from about 0.2 to 0.4 parts by weight of acrylonitrile per 100 parts by weight of butadiene within a period of about 3 to 25 minutes prior to shortstopping the emulsion polymerization of the butadiene. |
